About Us

The Kidney Centre is a specialised renal care facility located in Harare. Combining the expertise of its founders, the Centre offers comprehensive kidney disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services—aiming to reduce dependency on costly overseas care and bridge the significant gaps in Zimbabwe’s kidney health landscape.

Our Expects

* Role: Co-founder and lead nephrologist
* Background: One of Zimbabwe’s very few nephrologists, also serving as a colonel in the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and offering specialised care for both civilian and military communities
* Expertise: Focuses on early detection of kidney disease, with advocacy around genetic factors (e.g., APOL1), HIV, hypertension, diabetes, and NSAID overuse. A vocal proponent of expanding local dialysis and transplant infrastructure .

* Role: Co-founder, lead nephrologist, and academic contributor
* Qualifications: Earned her MBChB at the University of Zimbabwe (2003), completed specialist nephrology training in Australia (2013), lectures in UZ’s Department of Medicine, and heads renal services at Sally Mugabe and Parirenyatwa hospitals.
* Research Leadership: Led Zimbabwe’s first nationwide dialysis cohort study, funded by the ISN, providing critical data for policy and infrastructure development. She is also building a national dialysis registry.

• Earned her General Nursing Diploma in 2010
• Renal Nurse 2018 silver medalist awarded by Nurses Council of Zimbabwe.
• An active public health advocate.
